Ayoade also reached a milestone during the season by surpassing Jim Schwab as the all-time wins leader in team and conference history. During his career as a collegiate assistant coach, Ayoade was instrumental in the recruiting effort that has brought in some outstanding talent to the Cavalier soccer program.

The campaign witnessed the Cavaliers capture a second straight East Jayhawk Conference title with a record. However, at one point the season looked bleak as the Cavaliers stood in early October. The team capped the year placing fifth in the national tournament, and finished InJCCC finished a respectablebut their record did reflect how closely their season could have been a banner year. The Cavaliers had five ties, the most in school history, and lost two overtime games.

Individually, two players received postseason recognition. Andy Howard earned all-conference accolades, while T. Nunemaker garnered all-region honors.
