I left some homework in Dad's office yesterday afternoon and came by to pick it up. I'd rather be here early and leave early. I was afraid to ask because I know you've been so busy…" "No, no Emily. If you need someone to talk to I'm always here. Emily smiled at her. I tried helping them but I don't know what else to do.
They really like each other. And…he told me about his feelings for her. He said that he loved her. But…he's afraid to tell her. I tried talking to her about it to see how she felt and she won't talk about it.
She's ignoring her feelings. But I think she likes him too. That might be one of those things they have to figure out on their own, you know?

Sometimes…friends they…don't want to risk a relationship. It can end bad. Help them through it, maybe even do a little poking and prodding. Emily gave a little smile in return. I guess that's all that I can do.
For talking to me. Ever since he had told her that he was in love with Gillian a part of him was paranoid that she would spill the beans. It was girl stuff. Unless of course you would like to know about…" "Ok! Ok I get it. Don't want to know. Cal gave his daughter a kiss on the forehead. Gillian's phone beeped and she walked over and pushed the button. I don't think so. She walked out of the office and Cal watched her as she walked out. He followed her a second later.
The two of them strolled over the conference room where Ria and Eli were already waiting. Someone in his gang was just killed and they suspect him of it but they can't be sure.
He's apparently a pathological liar. I mean we have the cube…" "Well we would just have to bring the cops in I guess," Cal suggested lightly. I'll go call 'em. Gillian opened the file and looked down at it, while fingering her necklace again. Eli snuck a glance over at Gillian, studying her. Ria, noticing Eli's glances, looked over at him. Recognition shot into her face and she too looked over at Gillian who was ignoring them, looking intently at the file.
She shut the door behind her and whirled on Eli.
They both looked inside at Gillian again. Did you see him in there? He wants her back here.Oh it has begun... Cal Lightman/Gillian Foster.
I wouldn't miss this for the world" Eli interrupted. Go research this guy. She looked up as Eli and Ria walked into the cafeteria. Lightman's psychologist colleague in The Lightman Group who analyses patterns of voice, language, and behavior. While she occasionally disagrees with some of Lightman's actions, she has an open pact with Lightman: Her husband's lack of candor often challenges this: When Cal believes her husband, Alec, is cheating on her, he simply ignores what he is seeing, much to Torres's dismay.
It is later revealed that he was not cheating on her but was trying to overcome his drug addiction; they promptly divorce. Gillian had adopted a baby Sophie who was eventually returned to the birth mother.
This character is based on Dr. Unlike Torres, whom Lightman calls "a natural", Loker acquired his skills in "reading" people through academic education and practice. During Season 1, he also adheres to Radical Honesty and thus rarely lies, even if that makes him appear rude or undiplomatic. However, he is later promoted to Vice President, which makes a rift in any developing relationship between him and Torres.
Though talented and loyal, she lacks academic training and sometimes lets her emotions cloud her judgment.
Many viewers on the show would argue that Cal and Gillian are definitely heading into the relationship direction. I myself am one of them. While they are, at the moment, just friends there is a mutual attraction there that is hard to hide and it affects their actions both towards one another and towards others.
We'll start with Cal. He is an interesting man. The best way to describe him that ive come up with is "right brained. He is literally that person who can be described as everywhere at once. Someone will ask him a question, he gets distracted and walks away.
One minute he's checking her out, the next he's being the best friend, the next the big brother, the colleague, and as season 3 is progressing, rival of sorts. Gillian, on the other hand, is a much more responsible, organized, and concrete person. She is often reigning Cal in from his ridiculous antics, shielding him from harm, being his best friend, and i think, something a little more. While Cal focuses on the face, she focuses a lot more on character which is why she's a lot less trusting of the babes Cal has around than he himself is.
The point im trying to get to therefore, is that when it comes to Cal and Gillian there is a lot of underneath feelings that either arent being expressed, arent being recognized, or both.
