While Air may have started from the vision and dream of a single person, is significantly responsible for helping the small shop grow and evolve into what it is today.
Elea and Adam met soon after Air opened in July 2003. Because of her great ideas, incredible drive, dedication, loyalty, charisma, leadership and natural design sense, she is highly respected as a co-founder.
She has been involved with air for years, through Adam. But it wasn't till September 2005 that the two actually decided to see if their relationship would remain strong by working together full time. Well, it has become stronger, and because of Elea, so has Air.
nicknames: air chica
Elea is the sole female figure at Air. She learned kiteboarding by sheer will alone. The name Chica came from our first trip to Cabarete, Dominican Republic, where she was quickly referred to as chica by guys working at the local market. This carried over to the kiteboarding compound we stayed at...and then back with us to Charleston.
Happiness is a journey not a destination….for a long time it seemed to me that life was about to begin – real life, but there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life. This perspective has helped me to see there is no way to happiness. Happiness is the way, so treasure every moment you have and remember that time waits for no one. -Not sure who wrote this one, but I like it.

instructor basics
why you became an instructor I am an instructor because I want to bring my own experience to other kiters and I love the sport.
tip for kiters wanting to improve Don't forget to notice the small improvements your making, listen to kiters that are more experienced, and visualize.
tip for those kiters just starting out Have a healthy respect for the kite and be committed. For most, kiting often doesn't come as easy as they believe, I think it's a test because kiting only comes to those who really want it! Keep a positive attitude, I know it sounds cliche, but it's easy to get super excited, only to get bummed out becuase the weather won't cooperate or you're having a hard time with kite control. Be patient, stay positive, and your pay-off will be huge!!!
kiteboarding certifications PKSF, PASA, Advanced First Aid, CPR, Boat Safety

my riding
favorite gear setup Right now, I'm getting the incredible chance to test out a variety of gear. This year, I've spent a good chunk of time on the 2009 North Vegas & Ocean Rodeo Rise. For boards I swap between the Nobile HP and the Liquid Force Aura.
favorite kiteboard move for me it's totally simplistic, anything that is fluid and smooth. when I'm watching others anything un-hooked keeps me looking.
hardest trick you're working on now progressing without breaking another rib!
kiteboarding influences
All women rider's, in particular Kristen Boese because she's always pushing the limits and she has a great attitude. Davey Blair and Noah Simon because of their commitment to the sport and their no fear style.
NON-kiteboarding influences Pretty much everything that's not kiting in my life influences me to to get back on the water.
worst kitemare Thinking I could pull my kite out of a nose dive in a wind lull while on the beach. Rocks and houses everywhere. Los Barrilles, Baja Mexico has seen my face drug across the beach. Luckily I still have all my teeth. Thanks Holland for adding the extra weight!

non-kiting notes
other sports & hobbies I take tons of pictures, but often have lense envy, need a new camera. If I'm not kiting, I'm behind the camera. I also enjoy long lost moments just floating in the ocean as well as rare opportunities to go extreme mountain sledding.
something outside of kiting most would not know I only have one trophy, of which I'm very proud of, in my 32 years of life…..
